The Accounting and Financial Management department at Bucknell University’s Freeman College of Management invites applications for a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance to contribute to the College's mission of providing a rigorous, experiential education, in the context of one of the nation's leading liberal arts universities. The appointment is slated to begin in August 2024.

We seek a candidate with a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in finance (or a field appropriate for teaching finance) from an accredited higher education institution by the start of the appointment. A successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation of Bucknell's liberal arts tradition and be willing and capable of teaching introductory and upper-level courses in the department's finance major.

The Freeman College embraces the teacher-scholar model. Our new colleague will show promise of a vigorous scholarly trajectory, as well as a strong commitment to collaboration and interdisciplinarity. The Freeman College supports both traditional scholarship and creative scholarship that transcends disciplinary boundaries. Faculty have access to major finance and accounting research databases through the Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) and the University hosts an investment lab with access to Bloomberg terminals. Bucknell also provides a semester leave in a tenure-track faculty member’s third or fourth year of employment to focus on scholarly projects (for assistant professors on a standard tenure clock only). The teaching load for this position is five course sections per academic year.
