The Transcript Coordinator will coordinate the transcript services for the Registrar’s Office. This position is responsible for the academic integrity of the institution through the enforcement of university policies and Federal laws pertaining to dissemination of confidential information. This is a moderately difficult and specialized position within the Registrar's Office and works under the general supervision of the Associate Registrar. This is a full-time, non-exempt, benefits eligible position.

Job Duties:
● Coordinates, disseminates and maintains efficient and effective transcript and verification service systems through standard request forms, on-line transcript request service  and on-line enrollment/degree verification.
● Serves as primary liaison between the Registrar's Office and transcript service vendor(s), including evaluating current trend in transcript services in order to provide optimal student services. Recommends and redesigns forms and processes to support this.
● Provides direct customer support to prospective and current students in regard to transcript services. Responsible for the collection and accountability of fees associated with transcript production.
● Coordinates the authorizations for release of student records and information. Advises students of their rights, secure student signature authorizing release, and enter/store information and files.
● Maintains confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Education/Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); explains federal student privacy regulations to students and parents
● Maintains and ensures the confidentiality and accuracy of academic records, including but not limited to hard copy transcripts, microfilm transcripts, and digitized transcripts.
● Performs additional duties, as assigned, during Registration, Drop/Add and Commencement processes and assist with general aspects of office operations as necessary.
● Researches, retrieves, and distributes information pertaining to University course offerings, course description, and other data as requested.
● Updates and maintains student address changes in the student information system, to include data entry, web entry review and corrections, student notification, and resource document filing.
● Supports the department’s and the University's diversity initiatives.
● Collaboratively works with a variety of other administrative offices on campus to improve the overall "Bucknell experience".
● Inventories office supplies/forms and coordinates orders as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:
● High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience
● Accounting or bookkeeping experience and skills
● Demonstrates the ability to work with confidential data with accuracy.
● Advanced written and oral communications skills and independent judgment
● Extensive word processing and data entry skills
● Experience and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and customers such as students, faculty, staff and other academic institution constituents
● Must be flexible and able to function in a changing work environment
● Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, schedule and execute the requirements of the position with minimal supervision
● Demonstrates a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness


Preferred Qualifications:
● Associate’s degree
● Experience in higher education
● Working knowledge of all other work done in the Registrar's Office
● Demonstrates an understanding of federal student privacy regulations

The Community

It is the seat of Union County, which has about 44,000 residents.

The city of Williamsport is about a 30-minute drive from campus, and Penn State University’s main campus is about an hour away, as is Harrisburg, Pennsylvania’s state capital. Bucknell is within a three-hour drive of New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
