The Department of Geology and Environmental Geosciences at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA, invites applications for an entry-level, visiting assistant professor in geology; Ph.D. or ABD required. The position is for the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters. We seek applicants with a demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse student body.  Familiarity with Appalachian geology is desirable.

The visiting professor will teach two evolution of Earth sections and two accompanying lab sections in fall 2020 and two physical & environmental geology sections and two accompanying lab sections in spring 2021. Both courses are taught at the introductory level and serve both majors and non-majors. Each section is capped at 24 students.

Our department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in geology and environmental geosciences. Bucknell’s geology program is field intensive and we expect faculty to make use of local Appalachian field opportunities for labs in the courses.
