The Casual Stitcher within the Department of Theatre and Dance at Bucknell University is a part-time, hourly, non-benefits-eligible position. The Stitcher works in the costume shop during our busy periods in preparation for productions. The primary work period would be during the months of February, March, April, October, and November into early December. The hours as arranged per workload will vary from week to week ranging between 20 to 40. Applicants must have extensive sewing experience with zigzag and serger sewing machines, hand sewing such as hems and closures, a variety of fabrics, and be able to work independently to construct a range of clothing items including pants, skirts, blouses, dresses, etc. Duties include but are not limited to costume construction, machine sewing, hand sewing, costume maintenance, and organizing costumes for productions.

Physical Demands:
Operating sewing machines, carrying costumes and materials. Ability to lift 40 pounds and work from a ladder.

The Community
