Animal Caretaker I or II Lewisburg, PA
Bucknell University is pleased to announce that we are hiring two new Animal Caretakers (level I or level II). Animal Caretakers are active participants in the routine care and husbandry of the animals housed on campus. These positions support the use of animals for teaching and research in the Psychology and Biology departments and the Neuroscience and Animal Behavior programs. The Animal Caretakers are expected to carry out their duties in strict adherence to USDA, OLAW, IACUC, and other relevant state and federal regulations, and based on best practices. These positions report to the Animal Caretaker Manager.
Tenure Track, Assistant Professor of Music (Music Education) Lewisburg, PA
The Department of Music at Bucknell University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Music Education to start in August, 2024. An earned doctorate in music education or an equivalent field is required. Candidates in the final stages of their dissertation will be considered but must have earned their degree within their first year of employment in order to continue employment at Bucknell. Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience at the elementary and/or secondary level; demonstrated expertise in music education methodologies; and evidence of an ongoing creative and/or scholarly research agenda in the candidate’s area of professional expertise. A competitive candidate will have experience in higher education that demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Familiarity with state music education program accreditation practices is preferred. The appointee will have a vision—and a plan for realizing that vision—of what a contemporary music education program, situated in a liberal arts education, can become. Teaching responsibilities for the position include providing oversight of the music education program and contributing to the musical education of the broader student population. Utilities Technician I/II (Plumber) - 2nd Shift Lewisburg, PA
The Facilities Department seeks an Utilities Technician (Plumber) - 2nd shift to serve as the Facilities liaison to the Bucknell community and act as the first responder and primary troubleshooter for technical issues. The French & Francophone Studies Program at Bucknell University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Afro-Francophone Studies with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, or the Maghreb. The candidate will be expected to show evidence of thoughtful intellectual engagement with broader conceptual fields such as environmental humanities; decoloniality; gender and queer theories; migration and/or transnational studies. We seek a teacher-scholar with a Ph.D. degree in French and Francophone studies (or equivalent) by the start of the appointment (August 2024). Candidates in the final stages of their dissertation will be considered but must complete their degree within their first year of employment in order to continue employment at Bucknell. Candidates must demonstrate native or near-native fluency in French and English, excellence in undergraduate teaching of language and literature or cultural studies to a diverse student body, and an active and well-defined research agenda.
