The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Bucknell University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin August 2018. This position has the possibility of renewal for a second year pending positive review of the appointee's teaching at Bucknell.
We seek a women’s/gender/sexuality studies teacher-scholar with expertise in the study of race in the United States. Teaching load is six courses for the academic year (three per semester). Teaching responsibilities include at least three sections of Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies, at least one course that focuses on race in the United States, and one or more courses that complement our current departmental offerings. Evidence of teaching experience and excellence is required. The successful candidate will have a track record of active support for diversity and inclusive, innovative pedagogy. By the start date of the position, candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. or be ABD. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Applications must be submitted online via Bucknell's career site.
